longevity sauce PDF Print E-mail

I call this sauce 'longevity sauce" because of all the ingredients that I'm just sure must make you live longer!!!

Active Work Time: 5 minutes

Time to Taste: 5 minutes
Servings: about 1 1/4 cups
No: eggs, dairy, gluten, nuts, soy

ingredients

  • 2 Tbs. sesame oil (not toasted)
  • juice and zest of one lemon
  • juice and zest of one lime
  • 1/2 cup brown rice vinegar
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup miso (I like sweet rice miso)
  • 1 piece of fresh ginger, peeled (I use about 1 1/2 inches of ginger)

how to make it

  1. Place everything in a small food processor or blender, and whiz around until smooth. (If you’re using a blender, you may have to chop the garlic coarsely before adding it to the mix.)
  2. Pour over a prepared salad, on cut veggies, or wherever you want added flavor and yumminess!

helping hands

Let kids add the honey and then get to lick the measuring cup!  My youngest loves to turn the blender on and off.

notes

  • This sauce has wonderful probiotic power from the miso
  • You can easily peel ginger by scraping with a spoon!
  • This goes GREAT on raw kelp noodles with vegetables...talk about enzyme power!!!
