iced herb tea PDF Print E-mail

Let your creativity and taste-buds be your guide with this simple, and surprising cool tea.

This one is simple. All you do is take a few herbal tea bags, or clip a few herb sprigs from your garden, and place in a non-plastic pitcher of cool water. Place the whole thing in the refrigerator for a few hours, and you’ll have a delightful summer drink.

You can even make herb teas out of surprising combinations. I like a little thyme in my tea. Besides adding a fresh taste, thyme is great for coughs or congestions; has lots of antioxidant power; and even has antimicrobial properties.

Another surprising tea is cinnamon tea. I place a few sticks of cinnamon in a pitcher of water and have cinnamon juice to refresh us during the day. It’s great at regulating blood sugar (good for those concerned about diabetes), and it’s yummy!

There are sooo many options!  Mint, of course, but lemon verbena is delicious (and calming).  Then there's rosemary, which always tastes good with a little orange zest...get creative!
